Police warn of frosty car thieves
LANCASHIRE police are urging motorists not to leave their vehicles unattended while defrosting them in the early hours.
The theft of vehicles rises every year with the onset of winter and police are asking the public to be extra vigilant, especially on dark mornings.
Sgt. Scott Archer of Lancashire police, said: “It may be surprising but we continue to see people leaving their cars with the keys in on their drives on icy mornings. It takes an opportunistic thief just seconds to jump into a vehicle and drive off, so it really isn’t worth the risk.”
Any witnesses or anyone with information of suspicious activity should contact Lancashire police on the 101 number.
